Saint Cosmas of Aetolia and his preaching.

St. Cosmas of Aetolia was a missionary and teacher in the 18th century. He traveled from village to village, bringing the light of the Gospel to people who lived under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. His words were simple, but full of power.

Cosmas believed that true education must begin with faith in Christ. He often told people to open schools and to learn to read the Holy Scriptures. For him, learning without God was empty. But when learning was joined with prayer, it became a way of salvation.

He also spoke about love and unity. He said Christians must help one another and live with honesty and humility. He warned against greed and selfishness, reminding people that only life with God brings true joy.

Through his preaching, many people returned to the Church and found strength in Christ. Today, St. Cosmas is remembered as «equal to the apostles» because he carried the Gospel with courage and sacrifice.
